Today I am at home “ill” …just a big cold that didn’t allow me to sleep last night, so I preferred staying at home to have some rest for a day …and avoid spreading the cold in my office!
***
I didn’t write a lot on my blog this passed summer, to redeem myself I can show you that even if I wasn’t writing, I did many things!! I did not become lazy!!
***
The banana plants in front of our house are growing so fast you can see them growing …they have reached our bedrooms’ windows height! They are attracting the attention of our eastern neighbours and friends, who come in a tour to see the plants, begging for the leaves to cook delicious meals!
***
Stefan asked John one of his plans, and one morning they started digging, careful digging, until they were able to cut one of the “sons” of the big banana plant!
***
The “little” banana plant is now living at Stefan’s house!
***
We have had many tomatoes this year too, even if we are moaning a bit, because for sure the weather didn’t help.
…comunque abbiamo fatto salse e decorato pizze (fatte in casa!)
***
…but we made sauces and decorated pizzas (home made!)
***
…and we couldn’t miss Nutella pizza!
***
One day John made the focaccia, using our rosmary!! A big achievement!!
***
Stefan’s plum tree is gone crazy and doesn’t stop to produce fruit!! So we had to find ways to use it (even if there are still many waiting in the freezer).
***
Made the cake various times, and the colleagues at our offices really appreciated it!!
***
Some jam jar, that turned out really good, couldn’t be missing. …and for sure we are going to make some more in a not too faraway future.
***
Stefan found some potatoes that wanted to grow in his garden! …so we also made gnocchi (well, …John made them, we ate them!! ;)).
***
…then I made some biscuits with the flour bought at the mill!
***
Other tomatoes are getting ripe and yesterday evening we made 1,400kg of sauce!! …I think you can now forgive me for not finding enough time to write on my blog, don’t you think?
Grazie Eli!!
…ci provo a scrivere, ma vedi quanto tempo passa!! Un abbraccio!
Only one problem (for us) because you didn’t write often this summer… we missed hearing from you and getting to share in what you’ve been up to. Looks as if you’ve had a grand summer, Laura. Thanks for “taking me away” with you from time to time.
Thanks Sharon!!
…Sorry, I am always late writing you back!!
So wonderful, Laura! All your lovely food photos are making me hungry! 🙂
I hope you are feeling much, much better now. Glad you took a day to rest. Enjoy the autumn.
Thanks Anne!!
I am a lot better, thanks!! I am enjoying the autumn, too!!
