During my Christmas holidays in Italy I didn’t want to miss a visit to Florence. It was a long time I wasn’t there and I was starting to miss it! …I spent many years walking around Florence, during my university studies and the first working experiences!

Florence, to me, it’s really a nice city, full of things to discover and beautiful monuments to look at.

Unluckily the weather wasn’t that good, but it was not raining and I enjoyed my tour anyway!

Going back to the known places that you don’t see since a long time arises some emotions. You hear the same noises, smell the same odours that you thought were forgotten, but that come back again in an instant!

It was nice coming back to these places with my parents. We walked a lot, watching everything I desired. …they, like me, are really good walkers and we explored a lot, in a few hours!
E poi ci siamo fermati a mangiare in Piazza Santa Croce. Abbiamo aperto i nostri zaini e tirato fuori il “pranzo a sacco”.

Then we stopped to eat in Piazza Santa Croce. We opened our backpacks and took-out our “packed lunch”. We ate on a bench, enjoying the landscape! I like having the “packed lunch”, because you don’t have to find your food when you need it, you don’t lose time and when you prepare it you already know that you’re going to enjoy it with much pleasure during the day!

…a mix of Italian and English food, that tasted of Christmas holiday and family.
Ciao!!
..ok…la prossima volta ti invitiamo!

The photos of Florence make me want to visit. It looks so beautiful! I have been to Rome and Tuscany, but never Florence.
I belatedly wish you a very happy and successful new year, Laura!! xo
Hi Judy!!
I am trying to catch up with all the blogs I read as well…unluckily I don’t have much free time now!! …but I had a quick look at yours and it seems you keep yourself busy!
I’m glad you liked my pictures! I’m sure you’ll love Florence!!
Thank you for your nice words!!!
What a lovely holiday in Florence! I loved that city when I visited Italy – so much beautiful art, buildings, people! And the gelato, pasta, and shops! The Boboli Gardens were a wonderful respite from urban overload with amazing cats living in them. Thank you for sharing your photos – they brought back happy memories for me too!
Hi Sharon!!
I didn’t doubt you’d like Florence!!
The Boboli Gardens are really nice, not a lot looked after unluckily!
I’m glad my pictures helped you to remind happy times!
Oh, what a wonderful time you must have had. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the city with us!
And what a lovely photo of you with your parents!
Hi Anne!!
Happy to hear that you liked the picture!! I really had a wonderful time, you are right!
How your mom and dad must have enjoyed the holiday with you there. Amazing to see such places through the lens of your camera. A real treat for me, as always, especially in the heart of winter in America’s heartland.
Thank you, Laura.
Hi Sharon!!
My parents were glad to have me with them! …just today my mum asked me on the phone when I’ll go to visit them again!!
I know you’re already into winter…while here it’s not arrived yet!
You’re welcome…it’s a joy knowing that you all like my “tours”!!
