DOLCE DI CAROTE - CARROTS CAKE

Domani è un giorno speciale, ma adesso non voglio dirvi perchè! Avrò ospiti a cena, i miei vicini del Brasile, che ormai sono diventati dei buoni amici.

Tomorrow it will be a special day, but I don’t want to tell you why now! I’ll have guests for dinner, my neighbours from Brazil, who are now become really good friends.

Mi preparo alla cena grattugiando due carote! ..le ho comprate un pò grandine, così posso lasciarmene due pezzettini da parte da mangiare mentre mescolo gli ingredienti. Sono buone le carote crude! Mi ricordano quando eravamo piccoli e in estate io e i miei fratelli ne mangiavamo tante per abbronzarci di più e vedere chi diventava più nero. In estate, durante le vacanze estive, si viveva in costume, sul terrazzo, con una grande piscina di gomma e costruivamo tende con gli asciugamani.

I get ready for the dinner grating two carrots! ..I bought them a bit big, so I can set aside two little piece to eat while I’m stirring the ingredients together. Uncooked carrots are really good! They remind me when we where young and during summer me and my brothers ate many carrots to get more tan and see who would have been the more dark. In summer, during summer holidays from school, we lived in our swimsuit, on our balcony, with a big rubber swimming pool and we built tents with our towels.

Ho mischiato tutti gli ingredienti insieme, mangiato i miei pezzi di carota , e acceso il forno.

I mixed all the ingredients together, ate the carrot’s pieces , and turned the oven on.

Ho versato il miscuglio in una pirofila imburrata e infarinata…speriamo che non si attacchi!

I poured the mixture in an buttered and floured oven pan…let’s hope it won’t stick!

E ho anche riempito 6 contenitori per muffins con un pò dell’impasto, perchè voglio assaggiarlo stasera per essere sicura che sia venuto bene…..e forse mi avanza un pò anche per farci colazione domani!

I even filled 6 muffins cases with a bit of mixture, so that I can taste it tonight and be sure that it’s come out good…and maybe there will be a bit for tomorrow’s breakfast, too!

Il profumo sembra buono e l’aspetto promettente!! …non è finita qua però!! Devo aspettare che raffreddino per fare la decorazione, che vedrete ormai dopo la festa, quando immagino gran parte di quel dolce sarà ormai già stato digerito!

The smell is good and the appearance promising!! …it’s not finished here!! I have to wait for them to cool down and then I want to decorate them. We’re going to see the decoration after the party, when I can imagine the big part of that cake will have already been digested!

Al lavoro ieri abbiamo avuto un controllo. Ci hanno fatto delle domande e guardato come lavoriamo. Eravamo solo io e i miei due colleghi, il nostro Supervisor è in vacanza (ci ha insegnato tutto prima di partire e si è raccomandato mille volte di stare attenti e lavorare bene). …siamo stati bravi e abbiamo avuto BIANCO, che mi hanno detto è il massimo!! Ci hanno fatto i complimenti e ringraziati per il nostro impegno nel lavoro. Adesso io e la mia collega impauriremo il nostro Supervisor dicendogli che è andato tutto male e siamo stati tutti licenziati!!  :p

Yesterday at work we had a supervision. They asked us some questions and watched how we worked. There were just me and my two colleagues, our Supervisor is on holiday (before leaving he thought us many things and implored us to be careful and work well). ..we did all right and they gave us WHITE, that they told me it is the maximum!! They congratulated and thanked us for our work. Now my colleague and I are going to scared our Supervisor, telling him that everything went wrong and we have all being sacked!! :p
