ON MY WAY

Queste ultime due settimane ho lavorato tanto!! Natale si avvicina, e gli sconti dopo Natale…e c’è tanto tanto da fare!!

These last two weeks I worked a lot!! Christmas is approaching, and the sales after Christmas too…and there is much much to do!!

Sono state settimane tanto interessanti, in cui ho iniziato a raccogliere i frutti del mio duro lavoro!! Una dei miei manager, dopo aver scoperto di abitare non lontano da me, mi ha dato più volte dei passaggi in macchina e mi ha detto di apprezzare tanto come lavoro. E questo mi rende tanto felice!!

These have been really interesting weeks, and I started harvesting the fruits of my hard work!! One of my manager, after knowing that we live nearby, gave me more times some lifts home and she’s told me that she really appreciate how I work. And this makes me really happy!!

Mi ha messa a fare altri tipi di lavoro, che non avevo fatto fino ad ora e questo mi ha dato modo di lavorare più a contatto con i colleghi. Ne ho conosciuti meglio alcuni, e fatto nuove amicizie. Sono tutti così carini e gentili! Sono diventata molto più disinvolta a parlare con la gente, e adesso riesco anche a capire quando scherzano (quasi sempre!!). Nella pausa pranzo adesso stiamo tutti insieme e non più uno qua e uno là.

She put me to do different kind of jobs, that I’ve never done before and this gave me the opportunity to work closer to some of my colleagues. So I have known better some of them, and I made new friends. They’re all so nice and kind!  I’m more self-confident talking to the people, and now I understand even when they’re joking (most of the times!!). In our lunch-break now we sit all together and not more here and there on our owns.

L’atmosfera del Natale mi piace. Quando devo andare nel negozio, sento i clienti che canticchiano le canzoni natalizie insieme alla radio…e quando torno nel magazzino sento i colleghi che fanno lo stesso!! Gli inglesi amano cantare!

I love Christmas’s atmosphere. When I have to go in the shop, I hear the customers singing the Christmas’s songs together with the radio…and when I go back in the stockroom I hear my colleagues doing the same!! English people love singing!

Sento che sto facendo i passi giusti e che sono apprezzata. Al lavoro ci fanno seguire un percorso di formazione (hanno un’accademia interna)…ieri ho fatto un quiz e ho dato il 100% di risposte corrette! La mia manager ha detto: lo so che sai tutto!!

I feel that I’m doing the right steps and I feel appreciated. At work they make us following a training course (they’ve got an internal Academy)…yesterday I did a quiz and made 100% right answers! My manager said: I know that you know everything!!

Il passato è stato abbastanza duro. Spero che da ora in avanti le cose inizino a sistemarsi. E’ bello sentire che il lavoro che faccio è apprezzato ed è utile.

The past was quite hard. I hope from this point forward things will start to settle down. It is good when I feel that the work I’m doing is appreciated and is useful.

Lo so che non sarà tutto rose e fiori, e che ci saranno sacrifici da fare. Ma sentirsi parte di un “team” dove le persone ti accolgono e ti fanno sentire benvoluto è già qualcosa di positivo.

I know that it won’t be all a bed of roses, and there will be privations. But feeling as a part of a “team” where people accept you and make you feel welcome it’s already something positive.

Ancora non ho un lavoro da “architetto”, ma sono sicura che arriverà! E dopo queste ultime settimane mi sento molto più confidente..e pronta a spiccare il volo!

I don’t have a job as an “architect” yet, but I’m sure it will come! And after these weeks I feel more confident..and ready to spread my wings!
