Ieri per pranzo, abbiamo mangiato uno spezzatino di carne con riso (che io ho cotto con la mia “Rice Cooker“!).

Yesterday, for lunch, we ate a “Meat Spezzatino” with rice (that I cooked with my “Rice Cooker“!).
Ieri sera, a cena, sono andata a casa di mio fratello Richard e mia cognata Ilaria. Ci hanno dato dei Grissini, per riempirci la pancia mentra aspettavamo che la cena fosse pronta!

Yesterday evening, for dinner, I went to my brother’s Richard and sister-in-law Ilaria‘s house. They gave us some Grissini, to fill our tummy while we were waiting for the dinner to be ready!
E poi, da veri italiani, abbiamo mangiato Spaghetti al ragu’! …e abbiamo scherzato di come sia difficile per i non-italiani mangiare gli spaghetti!

Then, as true Italians, we ate Spaghetti with ragu’ sauce (Bolognese Sauce)! …and we joked about the difficulty for non-Italian people to eat Spaghetti!
Per pulire il piatto, cosi’ da poterlo utilizzare anche per la carne, ci siamo “sacrificati” facendo la “scarpetta” con un po’ di pane alle olive.

To clean our dishes, so that they could be used for meat too, we “sacrifice ourselves” making the “scarpetta” (= “little shoes”, it’s a saying that means that you wipe up the sauce from your plate with a piece of bread!), with a piece of bread with olives.
Poi, per fare bella figura…perche’ sapevano che avrei messo le foto sul blog, ci hanno preparato il petto di pollo con una salsa di formaggio! ..gustoso!

Then, to make a good impression…because they knew I would have uploaded these pictures on my blog, they cooked for us chicken breast with cheese sauce! …tasty!
Per accompagnare tutto abbiamo mangiato anche un po’ di schiacciata!

To be served with our dinner there was a bit of “Schiacciata” (a kind of Focaccia, but more thin and dry) too!
In una casa di artisti, non poteva mancare un po’ di “arte”. ..quindi Elia a fine pasto, si e’ messo a disegnare sulla sua lavagna magnetica!! E’ diventato bravissimo!!

In an artists’ house as that one, a bit of “art” couldn’t miss. ..so Elia, at the end of the dinner, started drawing on his magnetic blackboard!! He’s getting really Bravo!!
